Frage 1: Hello Sally. I´m Matthias
and I´m from Germany. What I wanted to ask you. Where
have you learned your German? Good luck to get married.:-)
Matthias
Sallys Antwort: Hi Matthias - I studied
German at school at a basic level and then I ended up presenting
a show for the BBC called "Language Fix" where I
would be set different challenges that always involved chatting
up the locals to help with my spoken German. I loved filming
in Berlin and Munich the best and I really enjoyed popping
over to Hamburg recently to promote my new show.
Sallys Antwort: Hi there Anke - so glad
you liked the show! Yes, Kevin was one of my top guys and
I agree he has a great sense of humour. I liked him even more
because he's Scottish like me!! I did meet up with him once
my dating challenge was over and we had a bit of a disastrous
date! I think he had found it quite tough being on my show
when I was dating all these other guys, so when we met for
a real date he was keen to show that he was in charge for
a change. He ended up chatting up another woman right in front
of me!!! I've seen him since though and he's apologised so
we're friends again - but I don't think we'll ever have a
proper relationship...he's a bit too artistic and off the
wall for me I think.
Frage 3: Dear Sally, I wanted to know if
you would life your live the same way, with focus on your
career,if you could turn back time. And I also enjoy watching
your show, you have got a great sense of humor!
Sallys Antwort: Yes I think I would still
have put my career first if I could do it all again. I've
been really lucky to have done some brilliant things as a
TV presenter over the years, lots of travelling and great
life experiences. At the end of the day, relationships come
down to timing and I'm really ready now to settle down with
the right guy. I will be sad if I end up being too old to
have children and maybe then I would regret not putting my
love life first a long time ago.
Frage 4: Meinst Du, dass in Deiner Sendung
trotz der Kamera realistische Date-Situationen entstehen konnten?
Danke!
Sallys Antwort: At first it was really hard
for me to relax with the cameras around because going out
with a guy on a date has got to be one of the most personal
things you can do in life! Myself and my production team (usually
cameraman and one producer, sometimes 2 cameras...) got better
at filming the dates so that the cameras weren't in the way
so much. Usually if would be hard for the guys to totally
be themselves on a first date but the 4 guys I really liked
began to forget the cameras by date 3 or 4. By this point
they got to know the production team as well so it was all
as natural as possible - especially after a few drinks! I
knew that I really like Kevin from the first date because
he was such fun and really rose to the challenge of being
filmed at the same time. We just clicked. Whereas with Gary
it kind of slowly got better the more we met each other and
that final date on the walk down in Richmond on the lovely
sunny day was probably my favourite date. It was very simple
and we were just two people enjoying each other's company
- for me it was very real!
Frage 5: Hi Sally, I really like your style!
Where do you get your cool clothes? Kind regards, Nadine
Sallys Antwort: Hi Nadine - I'm so glad
you liked my 'look'! I always like bright colours and I loved
my pink hat the best (some people didn't) and I lost it at
the end of filming the show and I still miss it! I got that
crazy hat from Accessorise in the UK. My black leather jacket
was from Joseph (very expensive at around £700 but worth
it because it was a certain style I wanted for the show).
I wore quite a bit of Pringle clothes on the show - pink striped
jumper, blue and white diamond zip up golf inspired top and
blue tartan jacket with blue fur collar. I would describe
my look as quite quirky and off-beat...I like being original
and have a really ecclectic wardrobe full of unique pieces
I've picked up over the years. I love the Spanish designer
Custo and have quite a few of their bright patterned tops.
I also love the UK store Whistles and can always find something
glam in there - my pink sparkly dress I wore at the end was
from Whistles as were quite a few of the more sexy tops I
wore - speed dating, first date with Kevin, Gary's house party,
coat on the opera date with Gary. One viewer wrote to me saying
that it was about time I stopped wearing combat trousers and
got rid of my ridiculous hat!!! I thought that was hilarious.
Maybe I'll have to grow up a bit with my style when I turn
40 in 2 years time!!!
Frage 6: Hey Sally, Today I have seen your
last show, I am really sad that it is over now. I would like
to know if you have already found your "Mister Right"?
Greets Anna
Sallys Antwort: Hi Anna - at lot of people
have said that they were really sad when the show was over
and I hung up my dating boots! I'm so glad that so many people
really got into it and loved every detail!! When the project
finished and we stopped filming, I ran away to Scotland then
Australia for a couple of months to get away from all the
madness and men! Quite a few more guys who didn't want to
be filmed came out of the woodwork and were phoning me looking
for a date. I had dated constantly for 10 weeks and I certainly
didn't want to go for more drinks/meals/ or chat up any men
for a long time. I did however really hope that one of these
guys would be right for me - my top 4 men were really great
from the show. But I was very confused when it all finished
and had to get my head straight. I don't think it's healthy
to date that many men at once because you can't work out which
one you really like!!! A few months after we finished filming
when I came back from Australia I met a lovely guy called
Joe. He works in the media and I met him through one of the
contacts from my TV show! I'm still with him now after 6 months
together...so maybe he will turn out to be my Mr Right!!!
Keep your fingers crossed for me and if it does work out then
I'll let you know....maybe I'll film the run up to the wedding!
Frage 7: Warum sind die "bad boys"
immer wieder so faszinierend für Frauen, obwohl doch
klar ist, dass sie an einer ernsthaften Beziehung nicht interessiert
sind?
Sallys Antwort: I think us girls want to
try and reform the bad boys and turn them into good boys but
that'll never happen! Yes, we like a challenge but it's too
much to take on and way too unpredictable. Usually the bad
boys are very handsome too, so they have a whole queue of
girls waiting in a line if it doesn't work out with you. That's
too much pressure and really at the end of the day you want
to be with someone who is a good person who genuinely likes
you and doesn't need to play games. I think Paul the barman
was probably a bad boy!!! He had lots of pretty girls coming
up to him in the bar and was definitely not a settling-down
type of guy. I really liked him at the time but looking back
I realise that it would never have worked out because he probably
doesn't want to change or is too hard to change. I don't want
to be in relationships where you play games anymore, I just
want to get on with my life and share it with someone wonderful.
